Craziness at the end of the Month

It has been a turbulent week not least on the financial markets with the unprecedented reaction to the Mini Budget last Friday that appears to of spooked them with impact -we hope only temporary-on the exchange rates and mortgage product availability.

Whether or not actually in power Keir Starmer's Labour Party announced economic plans that include a chunk of what government is doing minus the scrapping of the upper level income taxes levels but adding a commitment to gather up and nationalize the energy companies that you might well think would add to borrowing to buy the companies and compensate share holders would be any better received by the markets is an interesting question.

I'm inclined to think not but hey, the current plan with them is about making political hay (from the government's problems) while the sun shines.

The problem with stagflation is being a combination of inflation and a stagnant economy the cure for any one makes the other worse so policy tends to be "chicken and egg", stimulate the economy, try to control energy costs, borrowing where needed or slash spending, increase interest rates and risk unemployment rising significantly with all the associated spending on unemployment benefits, training schemes and so on.

The onset of the fall reminds me what I miss still from Marmalade who died several years back, that curiosity and poise.

After the heavy rain here earlier on the week the woods were rather like this.

Fall 2020

 Well upwards and onwards, what?

Fall is all around at the moment if you haven't noticed so I've also been finding my scarves and gloves as it gets colder for going out on foot enjoying the countryside and seeing the odd person about too apart from his nutkins plus his mate who was spotted this week.

For instance this scene is most probably seen by a number of people in this district but probably ignored just for being on the roadside near the estate in its full colour and if hadn't of been for the telegraph pole learning as most things here do you would of mistaken for being taken in a wood.

That's the thing. Great enjoyable scenes that can help refresh us in these trying times need not be far  away from us if we keep our eyes peeled wide open.

Preparations

I wouldn't blame her for being sat there, reading a book at the moment  because I've a number of my old books and comic annuals out and ready for whatever may transpire in the next few weeks cos I believe in being prepared.

I also like old fashioned simple wooden chairs like that too not least cos they do private more support and help with avoiding slouching which having a bad back doesn't help in the least when comes to things to sit in.

Three piece suites just don't provide the sort of support I need really and the chairs on those are too wide and deep for me to feel that comfortable.

I've also been finding my scarves and gloves as it gets colder for going out on foot enjoying the countryside and seeing the odd person about too apart from his nutkins who was spotted this week.

Stargazing

As make our way into the fall, the sky at night gets darker, ideal for stargazing - light pollution permitting - and you don't need anything fancy. A good pair of binoculars is ideal for casual viewing although spending around $130 or more on telescope can pay off.
Although this site is aimed at kids it has some very good basic information to aid you.

Keeping warm in style

For a period I was in love with sports leisure  wear and one example of it is this.
This Baseball jacket is by Henley's with stud fastening but you know there's  quite a few variations on this theme out there. The pink lining is a nice touch just taking the masculine edge off of it but I'll guess most of us could get away with a guys!

Fall 2009

Being the fall, I recently went on a walk and took this photo of the nearby Inland Waterway and thought I'd share it here.I rested the camera on the nearby bridge to keep the camera shake down.

Here the berries are out ready for the birds and Mr Nutkins when he comes on over from the woodlands nearby.

It's that time of year again and I can't resist berries!
It's nice to relax out of doors after overdosing on those MopTops.

The Fall edition (Tm)

Well it's that time of the year dont'cha think? Everything's going vivid before the onset of the snow.

Having recovered from a bad cold I've been out and about walking, and so took a few pictures with my digital pocket camera.

This is of a tree that's situated at the junction of our road. I had to wait a few days to get the right combination of colour change on the tree plus fairly subtle lighting to bring it out. I'm sure you'll agree it was worth the wait.
