The internal and external images

Forty years ago we would not of been having this conversation as we were women and girls and pretty much whatever we did at home and increasingly at work, we just wore dresses and skirts. The end.

Thirty years ago, I noticed on the cusp of becoming a teenager things had started to change, we saw women at social events and even in school wearing trouser suits, and yes in some contexts they could be more modest such as say physiotherapists.

But otherwise as a T Gurl, it remained an enigma that what one desired so much was indeed not so desired by women and later on girls in schools too.

For me it was the variety by length, construction, material and prints compared with the usually drab monotones of trousers, the freedom of legs to move without constraints and the airiness.

I just felt better wearing skirts, that they represented being the real authentic me.
