An adventure!

Some days are just eventful in ways that you didn't anticipate when you woke up that morning and while as I write this there is a Bye-Election taking place that most will be holding their breath for today when it comes to the results other things have happened.

Wednesday I went out shopping only to find the bus didn't turn up and attempts via the bus company website to find out what had happened draw a blank as no update had been published.

After a while and with the mysterious appearance of "Plod" in his Police panda car vooming from the opposite direction turning into a cul-de-sac and looking at me for a good thirty odd seconds before going  back in the opposite direction.

Had there been another report to police suggesting I was in some sort of danger was my thought very much after the Christmas incident.

Anyway after twenty odd minutes of waiting I went home for a warm and a drink and went out at 10:15 to catch the 10:27 instead which didn't turn up.

On the other hand I did see the 11:15 coming from where I wished to go on time and knowing after some estate journeys it arrived in the direction I wanted at just before 12:00 pm.

I'd been waiting over three hours for the bus so just what had happened?

After another unplanned for change - pavement work by the bus stop in town of all places - I got to Iceland and discovered the actual problem.

There had been an accident on the road that runs along the bottom half of the town involving a car and a motorcycle  that resulted in person going to our local hospital and the road being closed for a large period of time with very limited traffic being allowed just at the morning rush hour that added to the delays.

I got done what I needed half expecting to get a bus just before two pm back and have something to eat in town as I was just putting some stuff away as I saw a bus coming that was around twenty minutes late - and it was the one I wanted.

That meant a rapid change and eventually I was back not aided by a driver who didn't know the route by 1:20pm and got my dinner sorted after putting things away.

Now that was an adventure!

Memory....

My diary is apparently in my Tote bag with bits of notes and that scrawled across daily entries but sometimes the more hot off the press stuff tends to be in either chat streams or on blogs written usually on the rebound of a series of emotions.

Sometimes as with Tuesday it was a point of having been pushed emotionally to the edge at the weekend I just turned around and said "there are limits" as the Grump tried to blame me for him being late to get ready to go out as he hadn't told me anything and he tend to talk to himself saying things like "I'll do this later" but that's not stuff you write into your memory as its not addressed to you.

And my short term memory is atrocious - borderline non-existent at times - with no retention relying on making notes but requires being asked to so you know it's important - and I'd run out paper writing down everything he says.

Thus on Thursday I discovered the Tiger Baguette  was unsliced and not put in the freezer cos with all that going on it had gone totally out of memory so just left out in the kitchen.

That's just how things get at times.

Shopping!

Not the best of weeks here with issues and yet more issues with the legendary Grump but as things on the more current affairs front (no one's investigating affairs with a current!) are very up in the air we'll get down to more everyday things.

Shopping. Yeah the pain in butt that is the Grump does that Monday's - an old routine that's a bit unneeded as "big shops" are a thing of the past being both carless and since Mom's death three year ago on Saturday rather less on paper at least is needed.

That's before you consider the store he goes to is not well run in a marginally less grotty part of the district.

Day and place could better as in better run stores, less menacing types about and even cheaper prices.

I usually shop Wednesday just outside the district where there everything from "fill to the brim on stop shop" shopping to bespoke butchers and cheese stores all co-existing so you can mix and match rather being stuck with just one stores whole range.

Friday's I join him  but leave him to go around Iceland as I've got what I need from there in pop into smallish Morrisons which isn't the quite last word in shopping but does often have useful stuff in and bargain offers apart from newspapers, a legacy of the store being for former newsagent that went into sell bits and bobs of food before being taken over as most of the group was in mid-Cheshire.

Fresh ingredients are available in a way some places are deserts of with only packaged highly processed food available that just  isn't that healthy.

I'd rather the Grump moved his monday shopping somewhere better!

The sinking ships...

Only one thing that's really been talked about much across the week and it's all subject to in real life split second changes but the Epstein scandal sees Andrew Mountbatten-Window banished to Wood Farm Sandringham while repairs are being undertaken to his his considerable smaller future home as his and Sarah Ferguson's public lives are in tatters.

But it doesn't stop there.

The matter of Lord Peter Mandelson, former America Ambassador, revealed to kept very close relations to Jeffery Epstein after his conviction for paedophilia took a sharp nose dive when it was revealed he was leaking Government matters of financial interest given Epstein an advantage resulted in him resigning from the Lords and a set of questions Keir Starmer, Britain's Prime Minister struggles to answer regarding knowing the continued relationship between Mandelson and Epstein, he nonetheless approved the post.

And it's not going away.

Performance on Wednesday Parliamentary Question was decisively wobbly with openly expressed anger at his poor judgement and questionable advice from his advisers.

A week ago it had seemed he'd seen of a challenge from Andy Burnham, the Elected Mayor of Greater Manchester, preventing him from standing for the Gorton bye-election that would of given the chance to challenge from within the Parliamentary Labour Party,

Today it's less than clear of Keir Starmer will survive.
